#8 - The end of Me(lanie)

Final Thoughts

The end of anything is often bittersweet. Never did I think the end of "All About Me(lanie)" would fall under the shared category of a pleasant end. This blog holds history spreading beyond this class. It holds ideas published and unpublished, moments of explor
ation, failed poems, and more. Though this blog doesn't really have to come to an end, the closing of this class does mark an ending to the development for a newfound multimodal creative curiosity through this form.

However, I do treasure the opportunity to explore this format within this class and another that I took last semester. I feel that this would be a great project for my future classroom, as it is something that breeds creativity and possibilities to fail without the looming pressures that come from writing a standard essay, for instance.

When reflecting back onto my blog and moments where I did well, I still feel I could've done better. Pressures from college and multiple jobs  preventing me from submitting the best possible work. However, I'd still argue some of my posts to be worthy of a Bloscor

Here are the blogs I believe to be worthy of a Bloscor

Professionalism: The very first blog I submitted titled, "Navigating the Digital World" was one that I found to be the most professional due to the format, evidence, and language used throughout. Another that I feel fits this category would be blog number 5 for the same reasons listed prior.

Multimodal Design: I find my 4th blog to best represent this category as I implemented images and gifs to best support my ideas.

Creativity: I'm marking this blog as my most creative. Having taken inspiration from the Geronimo Stilton series, I included different fonts, color, links, pictures, and so on to

Civic Engagement: I found that my last blog to be best fitting for this category as I implemented the use of a PSA/infographic project to support the cause of water conservation and sustainability.

People's Choice Award:I would like to nominate Fatima, particularly her blog post #3. The use of gifs and professional yet personal language drew me into her blog! Very well done!

  1. I also have the bittersweets. I don't want it to end...but knowing me, I probably won't add any more. I do agree that this is an amazing project for a classroom. Imagine what high schoolers would do with a real audience and self-published work...what a great opportunity to let learning flourish.

  3. Hey Melanie,
The blog assignment thing I could agree was bittersweet. I did like having a platform to put my thoughts and some of my feelings. But like the sands of time, nothing can last forever and this chapter of us must come to a close. Yeah, cool blog.

  4. I agree with the others. Most likely, life will happen and I won't post on here anymore, but I think it is a great way to create an example for future students. I will definitely implement this into my classroom.

  5. I can definitely relate to feeling like I could've created better work but couldn't becuase of time constraints. It's such a frustrating feeling knowing that you have to rush through an assignment. You have created quality work, despite feeling that way, so don't be discouraged.
